I paid a visit here on Sunday afternoon. It was very busy and its not a large space. The restaurant is in side a market, or the market is inside the restaurant. They have a huge smoker out front and the decor is very humble. The place was clean and the service was friendly. It's counter service where you order and eat then pay. I enjoyed the #1 combo. red tamale(pork) and carne taco. The tamale was legit and the taco had steak with good flavor. The salas were soooo good and sooo hot.

Tacos are seriously lacking along the Troost Wornall coridor. This is the closest place for some street tacos and they are pretty delicious. The variety is not as large as I am use to, but there is a decent selection of meats to choose from. The homemade tortillas (there is a table of ladies making them in the back) are delicious! The sauces, like all places like this are hot compared to what one might be use to at Americanized Mexican places, but packed full of flavor! You will also find some grocery items and fresh pastries (I bought one but haven't tried it.) Bring cash. There is a $5 minimum transaction with a card. For me that means pastries for breakfast!

Best street tacos I've had in KC! If you put some Guac on them they are perfect, and while still delicious without the guacamole, they are on the dry side. The restaurant itself is bare bones and in the back of a small Mexican grocery store. There are a few plastic tables and Little to no decor but no one goes here for the decor! When we were there it was filled with families all speaking Spanish, and mariachi music was playing on the background. If you close your eyes you wouldn't know you weren't in Mexico!

DELICIOUS! Great staff super friendly and helpful! I tried it on a whim in KC for a convention! Authentic homemade style, small and unique restaurant/Mexican/Latin specialty store! Waitress helped me understand the differences in a patience pleasant way, I had the combo of "sopas y flatua" with steak! My friends had a quesadilla, a burrito, and the special of the day "pupusa"! Everything was fresh, the salsa and tomatillo sauce were so flavorful! Over all I enjoyed it!

Pretty awesome place! Their quesadillas and street tacos are great but their barbacoa is the real knock out item. It's like Mexican burnt ends. Simply awesome, it's no wonder they sell it by the pound, hot from the smoker on Sundays. They also have a small Mexican marketplace with a lot of imported goods for sale. They have two salsas: green tomatillo, which is mild and delicious, and an orange "hot" sauce that's probably got some habanero in it. Use it sparingly unless you have a high tolerance for heat.

They serve very good Mexican street tacos. Try the adobada tacos.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
